Dear Members,

according to the bylaws of the PMI Germany Chapter e.V. the board of directors consists of eleven members. In principle, each board member is elected for three years. During the election held in March 2021, all eleven board members were elected.

However, one of PMI's requirements for the chapters is that not all board members should be re-elected at the same time. Instead a rolling system should be implemented so that when new elections are held, not the whole board is being re-elected, but only parts of it. The rationale behind this is to ensure continuity in the leadership of the chapter.

In order to get into such a rolling system, it is stipulated in the rules of the association that, deviating from the general rule of three years, some board positions have to be re-elected already after one year and others then after two years.

This year the following four positions are concerned:

  • Vice President Communication

    Responsible for the marketing, the appearance and the external appearance of the PMI Germany Chapter e.V. as well as for the provision of information to the members, interest groups of the PMI Germany Chapter e.V. and the general public.

  • Vice President Operations

    Responsible for the provision of the IT systems required for the association, the planning and implementation of centrally planned cross-regional events, and for compliance with the regulations governing the topics of data protection and IT security.

  • Vice President Organizational Relations

    Responsible for building and maintaining the relationships of the PMI Germany Chapter e.V. with companies, government agencies and educational institutions.

  • Vice President Region North

    Responsible for the provision of the "PMI Chapter Membership Services" and all other offers in the Region North as well as for representing the interests of the region in the Board of Directors.

In addition, two cash auditors will have to be elected.

For the execution of the election a nomination committee was formed, which consists of the following PMI Germany Chapter e.V. members:

  • Juliane Schmidt
  • Gerhard Fuchs
  • Fred Gerber
  • Karsten Meinders
  • Thomas Wuttke

The task of the nomination committee is to ensure that the elections are conducted according to the requirements of the PMI Germany Chapter e.V., i.e. statutes and bylaws. The members of the nomination committee themselves are not eligible to apply for a board position.

The election will be conducted in the following steps:
  1. Announcement of the election via website and newsletter.

  2. Individual applications in the period from Feb 7th to Feb 21st 2022. Application documents are available for download. here.

  3. Review of the applications and, if necessary, consultation with the applicants by the nomination committee.

  4. Announcement of the candidates from March 8th 2022 on the website of the chapter.

  5. Electronic execution of the election from March 15th to March 29th 2022.

In addition to the professional requirements for each board position, which will be reviewed by the nomination committee, membership in the PMI Germany Chapter e.V. is a mandatory prerequisite for application.

All natural persons who are members of PMI Germany Chapter e.V. in the period of the election (March 2022) are eligible to vote.
