What is a Community of Practice?
A Community of Practice (abbreviated to CoP for simplicity) is a group of enthusiastic PMI members who want to exchange ideas and share experiences also through publications in the respective "field". The aim is to generate new ideas and concepts for practical application, which can then be used in practice.
Every day we are not in the ivory tower of theory, but try to find out which concepts, approaches or ideas work or work particularly well. Therefore, the focus of a CoP should be on the "P" - namely "practice".
We know of two types of CoPs....
A topic-oriented CoP and an industry-sector CoP...

CoP AI
Objectives and benefits
The aims of this Community of Practice are:
- Collecting and exchanging knowledge on the effects of artificial intelligence on the design, planning and implementation of projects
- Investigating various questions:
- Does the use of artificial intelligence change the management of projects and if so, how?
- Which project management activities will change and how?
- How is the job profile of project managers changing?
- What do the changes mean for the training of project managers?
The aim is to build up, consolidate and expand your own knowledge on the topic of artificial intelligence in project management. The focus is on building a network for exchanging ideas on the topic of artificial intelligence in project management.

CoP Citizen Development
Objectives and benefits
The aims of this Community of Practice are:
Citizen development describes the ability of a user, a citizen developer, to create applications without programming knowledge. The CoP Citizen Development in the PMI Germany Chapter wants to offer members the opportunity to build up a competence that will become increasingly important in the coming years by analytically dealing with this topic of the future. The aim is to present the new technical options and opportunities to management at decision-maker level, based on the extremely professional project management skills of certified PMI members. They will be in a position to demonstrate the future requirements and the appropriate answers and strategies in a comprehensible manner.

CoP Disciplined Agile

The aims of this Community of Practice are:
The PMI has formulated it as follows. The DA toolkit is the world's only comprehensive Agile Body of Knowledge (BOK) that provides easy-to-use and practical guidance to help individuals, teams and organizations make context-specific choices about their "way of working". Key principles of Disciplined Agile (DA) include customer focus, pragmatism rather than purism, providing a range of agile and lean options, applying situational practices and optimizing processes across the organization. Applying the DA toolkit enables organizations to adapt any method or framework - such as traditional (predictive), Scrum or SAFe - to achieve results that differentiate them from their competitors. Our community of practice wants to find pragmatic ways to use or introduce DA in the company.

CoP Life Sciences
Objectives and benefits
The aims of this Community of Practice are:
Our CoP "Life Sciences" consists of several interested PMI members from the pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory technology and medical technology sectors. As part of the kick-off, we would like to introduce our group and our goals for this exciting new project. Unlike many other industries, the process industry is characterized by a high degree of regulation. This ensures that the efficacy, safety and quality of drugs, for example, are sufficiently understood before they become generally available. Due to the clearly defined framework conditions and the large amount of data required, for example, in the application for approval, the pharmaceutical and biotech industries have some special features, such as long product development cycles. We would like to give project managers from these industries a platform to exchange experiences and make their daily work more efficient.
