In May, the Lean-Agile CoP launched its new series “From Agility to Business & Enterprise Agility.” After the first three sessions, a clear picture is already emerging: Agility has become established in many organizations – but agile methods and frameworks alone do not make an organization truly adaptable.

Three Key Insights from the Sessions So Far

Agility needs the right structures.
Agile teams quickly reach their limits when decision-making processes, governance, and organizational structures fail to keep pace. The challenge is therefore often less about a lack of methods and more about the conditions in which agility operates.

Enterprise Agility involves the entire organization.
Business & Enterprise Agility goes beyond teams and projects. What matters is an organization’s ability to recognize change early, learn from it, make decisions, adapt, and continuously create value. This brings strategy, leadership, governance, organizational structures, and technology into focus as well.

Principles provide orientation.
Instead of searching for the “right” framework, it is worth looking at the underlying principles. Different approaches often pursue similar goals – even if they use different terminology and methods to achieve them.

This is exactly where the next session on September 17, 2026 picks up. Under the title “The Battle of Principles,” Agile, PMBOK, SAFe, Business Agility, and AI will go head-to-head.
