39th English PMI Round Table Frankfurt
PMI Round Table on Project Management topic
Topic: The Elephant in the Room is Systems Thinking
Subtitle: How implementing Systems thinking principles helped bring clarity and control to a complex VUCA project
03.06.2025 18:30 - 20:30
Dear PM enthusiasts, members of PMI and friends,
Greetings and here's the invite to the next English Round Table for the project management professionals living in and around the city of Frankfurt. With this event we intend to facilitate exchange between PMs, and we will talk about Project & Program Management related topic in the Organization.
This meeting will allow you to discuss on any of the project management related topic or questions in your project, program, organization, or your day-to-day activities. Our volunteer team from the PMI Germany Chapter will be available to facilitate the discussion.
As we are an international team, the language of the event is English, and the questions can be discussed in German if required.
Abstract: In high-pressure environments filled with technical hurdles, shifting timelines, and endless escalations, teams often default to a firefighting mode, leaving Systems thinking principles by the wayside. But what if structure was the very thing we needed to restore clarity and deliver impact?
This talk explores how implementing a tailored, lightweight System framework transformed a chaotic, global SAP deployment involving hundreds of rollouts into a well-aligned, agile operation. Drawing on PMP-aligned pillars—scope, change, risk, cost, and knowledge management—I’ll share how, together with Project Management methodologies and Systems thinking principles, I brought measurable improvements in team morale, stakeholder trust, and delivery predictability.
The talk will offer:
- Real-world lessons from a VUCA project
- Simple yet powerful structures that enable agility, not stifle it
- A mindset shift—from viewing structure as overhead to seeing it as a value enabler
Whether you're leading a digital transformation, navigating a high-stakes rollout, or simply seeking clarity in complexity—this session will help you face the elephant in the room.
Speaker (Self-Introduction Note): My name is Divya Iyer, and I am currently leading a large-scale SAP digital transformation program at Bosch, overseeing a global team of 50+ professionals. I hold a PMP certification and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Engineering and Management from MIT, where I specialize in systems thinking and complex program delivery.
With over a decade of experience across automotive systems engineering, global project leadership, and product innovation, I’ve been at the forefront of turning chaos into clarity in volatile environments. I am also the founder of Monki Tox, a startup focused on positive parenting and emotional well-being in children.
In this talk, I’d like to share a very real and relatable challenge many of us face - the neglect of structured project management in complex, fast-moving programs - and how embracing it, even in a lightweight form, can turn the tide.
