251210 PMI DATGermany can do more! – that was the motto of the German Employers’ Day on 25 November 2025 in Berlin: Video showing the Highlights des #DAT2025

The event focused on demands and vivid discussions about reforms of the social security systems, reducing bureaucracy, modernizing the state, and questions around education. The overall tenor: external influences and crises can only be shaped to a limited extent, but there are many areas within Germany’s control that we must tackle.

High-ranking political representatives such as Katharina Reiche, Lars Klingbeil, Bärbel Bas, Karsten Wildberger, and even Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz – along with various other leaders from politics, business, and diverse organizations – outlined their positions on Germany’s reform needs and discussed potential solutions.

Even if it was not stated explicitly, all topics ultimately converge in large-scale programs of societal reform and transformation. From this perspective, it was both logical and consistent that PMI was present as the main sponsor of the event.

During a panel discussion, Johannes Heinlein, PMI’s Chief Growth Officer, emphasized that education in Germany is still too often discussed purely as a cost factor rather than as an investment in the future of society. He highlighted that constant change requires continuous learning to be regarded as essential – and that adequate funding must be provided accordingly.

Alongside Johannes Heinlein, Marco Rahms (Partner Success Manager Germany), Ema Crnomarcovic (Head of Marketing Europe), Sandra Deichsel (Partner Engagement Manager Europe) and our President Wolfgang Friesike engaged in discussions with participants about the increasing economic relevance of project-based work and the growing need for trained experts in the field of project management.

Even if the impact cannot be measured directly, PMI’s presence significantly strengthened awareness for projects and project management — making it a great success overall. See here a statement from the President of the PMI Germany Chapter:  Video Wolfgang Friesike @ #DAT2025
