Save the Date: On 26 March 2026, the theme will be:“Strengthening SMEs. Accelerating Transformation. Securing Competitiveness.”
Germany’s economy is powered by its small and medium-sized enterprises. Yet these companies face a growing challenge: strategies must be executed faster than ever—while traditional portfolio and project management methods are often too complex, too slow, and too costly for SMEs.
This is where the PMI Germany Chapter’s Community of Practice “Pragmatic Multi-Project Management for SMEs” comes in.
Founded one year ago, it pursues a clear mission: to develop a method that enables SMEs to get started immediately - without prior knowledge - to accelerate strategic initiatives and secure long-term competitiveness.
What the CoP SMEs has developed so far:
Three interdisciplinary working groups have analyzed key success factors for SMEs and developed practical solutions:
Organization & Culture: Which typical barriers slow down strategy execution—and how can they be overcome pragmatically?
Value & Business Case: How can the tangible benefits of implementing a lean portfolio management approach be calculated and communicated easily?
Technology & Tools: What criteria must software meet to truly support SMEs in fast strategy execution?
Why this matters for SMEs right now:
Because execution speed determines whether new business models succeed, customers stay loyal, and innovations reach the market in time.
