Communication & Conflict – Handling Difficult Conversations with Confidence
Strong communication is at the heart of every successful project. In this 90-minute interactive session, we’ll dive into conflict resolution techniques every project manager should know — and bring them to life through Annie’s unique Bird Personas: the Mean Magpie, Avoidant Ostrich, Diligent Duck, and Effective Eagle, from her book, “The Courageous Sponsor”.
Discover how to spot different communication styles, defuse tension, and navigate challenging conversations with clarity and empathy. We'll also include a short, practical role play so you can experience how these strategies work in action.
Bring your curiosity — and maybe your inner bird!

CPI, OPA, EEF, COQ, WBS, SOW, roadmap, critical path, user stories... Latin? Not at all!
Technical terms like these are decisive parameters in all performance domains of the PMBOK. They can be found in processes and in the logic of project management, and not only there - technical terms are practical terms that provide a relevant basis for understanding.
In this study group workshop, we will dive into the technical terms of the PMI, discuss the particularly challenging candidates and put them into context - with guaranteed oha moments.

Mithun A. Sridharan:
Mayday! Mayday! Decision-making under Duress
Similarly, today, business leaders and executives operate in a turbulent business environment, marked by geo-political crises, changing marketplace conditions, technological breakthroughs that dirupt industries, and more. Consequently, the ability to make critical decisions under duress, i.e. scenarios where stakes are high and the consequences of decisions far-reaching is not longer a nice-to-have, but a key leadership trait. In the high-stakes, high-pressure scenarios, such as navigating a market crash, handling a security breach, managing a product recall, tackling a global pandemic or guiding team through a turnaround, Leaders need to make split-second decisions, often under uncertainty. The ability to make sound, justificable and reproducible decisions under pressure with long-term impact is not only a valuable Leadership trait, but also an existential necessity. The ramifications of such decisions on an organization's ecosystem is profound, affecting employees, partners, suppliers, customers, and more.
The talk, based on Mithun´s new book, titled: "Mayday! Mayday! Decision-making under duress" will equip you with proven frameworks - derived from aviation incidents - to effectively and efficiently deal with mission-critical environments. This talk will introduce leading decision-making frameworks used by pilots and aviation professionals to help you navigate uncertainty, manage risk and ensure effective action, especially during Mayday scenarios.
The event is free of charge. Participants ear 2 pdu for the full attendance.
