Promoting and advancing the application of professional project management in all areas of society is the overriding goal of PMI. With over 700,000 members, PMI is the world's largest organization in this field. For many, simply being a member of this great family is a benefit in itself. However, being a member of PMI and the PMI Germany Chapter also brings many other benefits. These are often not even known. For this reason, we are going on a search for you and presenting a "Benefit of the Month" every month.
Artificial intelligence (AI) will profoundly change project management. It can automate tasks, analyze data and support well-founded decisions. AI-supported tools improve scheduling, risk assessment and resource allocation. Project managers benefit from more precise forecasts and more efficient workflows. Communication with stakeholders is improved through AI-supported analyses and reports. Overall, AI will boost productivity and increase the chances of project success by taking over routine tasks and providing valuable insights that complement human capabilities.
Member Benefit of the Month – Episode 13 – PMIxAI
The immediate Benefits of using Generative AI (GenAI) in Project Management
GenAI offers the great promise that projects can be carried out more successfully through its use. Corresponding tools are increasingly available, cost-effective and becoming ever easier to use.
However, the introduction of GenAI in an organization's project management is more than just the introduction of a new tool. It is about bringing about organizational change. GenAI is a transformative technology that will revolutionize project management practices and the entire discipline of project management and the processes behind it.
The course "Data Landscape of GenAI for Project Managers" is a very good illustration of what to consider when implementing it and also includes a canvas that helps project managers to better understand and manage the opportunities and challenges in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics and enables a structured approach to integrating data and AI into project management activities.

Until now, however, there has been a lack of focus on how this technology can be specifically deployed and used in project management, which factors facilitate its introduction and who the drivers of such an introduction are.

On our own behalf

Since the beginning of May, I have succeeded Dr. Andreas Berning as President of the PMI Germany Chapter. Andreas did not stand for re-election for personal and professional reasons. We reported on this in our last newsletter.
Many thanks to all those who voted for me. And many thanks again to Andreas Berning for all that he has done for the PMI Germany Chapter and for PMI in Germany in general over the last few years. If there is ever something like a gallery of those who have made a special contribution to the PMI Germany Chapter, Andreas will be at the top.

One of the most important offers of PMI chapters in general and also of the PMI Germany Chapter are local events for further training, knowledge exchange and networking. During the coronavirus pandemic, we had to forego events with physical attendance. Since then, more than a few have retreated completely to virtual events. But many have also complained about a lack. Something is missing.

Board Election and Election of Financial Auditors 2024
As every spring, a number of Board positions were up for election in 2024, including the office of President and financial auditors. As there was only one candidate for each office - which is a great pity - the result is not surprising.
